Coconut coir (fibers):
Cut or unwind the coconut fibers from the metal wire.
Add fibers to your home compost or place in your green/yard waste bin, if accepted locally.
Metal wire frame:
Place with scrap metal or metal recycling, if your local facility accepts small metal items.
If metal recycling isn't available in your area, the small wire piece can go to the trash—your overall impact is still far lower than repeatedly sending entire plastic scrub pads to the landfill.
